I have been using the Fusion curing light for three years now. It has been great addition to our practice, It has a powerful beam, nicly designed that can access easily all teeth in the mouth. It’s also well constructed, durable product. I have piece of mind that I am curing well my first increment in a deep box!!! Thank you for a great product.

Not only is it a fast curing light but it comes with a masking shield that reduces the light to a pinpoint for spot curing laminates while placing them if that technique is desired by the clinician.

Never Do Just an “Oral Cancer” Exam!

The most important function of dental care is a thorough assessment and evaluation of the patient’s oral and related systemic health. An exam should never be focused on just one condition, and that includes cancer. One of the biggest mistakes that clinicians make is understating the true value of an oral screening for a multitude of conditions and over-hyping a single disease. The improper communication of these procedures has greatly reduced the perception of the significance and importance of the examination process.
The DentLight Oral Exam Kit (DentLight, Inc., Richardson, Texas) uses a battery handheld light source to stimulate a fluorescence response that is emitted from the tissue. The clinician views the tissue that is being stimulated with this specialized light through specific filters that are attached to the magnification optics of their loupes. If an area of concern is detected, the area can be photographed with a standard handheld digital camera with the supplied filter that can be attached to a lens filter adapter.

Thus, the techniques and devices that assist us in becoming better diagnosticians are always welcome. DentLight has introduced the DOE Oral Exam System that helps dentists and hygienists to identify abnormal tissues that may otherwise escape detection. The dental team is tasked with performing regular cancer screenings for patients, and the DOE makes the potentially life-saving examination pleasant and fast. The small, cordless DOE utilizes high-powered LED illumination with a contrast-switching filter that enhances routine visualization. It looks and feels like a portable curing light, only much more versatile. The unit’s easily interchangeable heads allow for a multiple wavelength intraoral examination with violet and white lights that provide an excellent opportunity for the early and clear differentiation of normal and malignant oral tissues. DOE’s unique collimation provides a uniform beam for superior illumination and excitation of fluorescence. The DOE is compatible with digital cameras to allow a permanent visual record that can assist in monitoring oral changes over the short and long term. The smart, nonmemory, rechargeable battery maintains constant power and has enough charge for 20 patients or more. The DOE uses convenient, integrated loupe filters that can be customized for all major magnification brands. The DOE is a modular light source; it converts instantly to transillumination and curing (with an upgrade) with just a simple head replacement. The DOE is all about early detection and prevention.

I’m a big believer in oral cancer screening. By examining and finding cancer at its earliest stages, it allows us to give the patient the best chance to beat this disease. Early on in the development cycle of the Identafi device (way before it was part of DentalEZ) I was tinkering with the device.
