"Good Cordless light",  May, 2010, Orthotown Message Board
The fusion got great reviews in the ADA buying guide for LED curing lights. at ...  dollars and
it's great form factor that is hard to beat.

"Fusion Cordless Curing Light",  BracketScientist, May, 2010, Dentaltown Message Board
Love the fusion lights.  I have 3 of them for the past 2 yrs with no issues what so ever.
Awesome light at a very good price.

Seeing the Light at CDA
A small company Dentlight produces some nice lighting products for dentistry.  Before you
buy a new new LED or Illuminating light you should check out the Dentlight products. I got to
see these products at CDA and will get a chance to try the new bright headlight.

Dr. Scott D. Benjamin
I strongly recommend the DentLight Fusion. It is by far the best light I've ever used. It has a 5
sec cure for most composites, great ergonomics and can be passed like a hand instrument,
it's very durable, I can use it to seat a CEREC / other indirect restorations and tack cure it. I
bought one for every operatory. I also use the bar mount charging unit / docking station so
that it is always charged. You should be able to buy it from any dealer that you use.

The dentlight Fusion is a cool little addition to your armormentarium: it is well made and neat
looking and its small size allows it to reach difficult to access areas such as distal surfaces
of second molars: this is particularly helpful for patients with restricted opening. The light
guides are excellent for tack and wave cementation of indirects. I would unhesitatingly
recommend this product .

Dr. John Flucke
For the past 3 months we've been working with the Dentlight Fusion curing light. We've been
impressed with the ease of use and most importantly, the intensity of the light resulting in a
superior depth of cure.

The Fusion is the highest intensity light that we've tested that manages to provide this much
power from a battery operated platform. The light routinely has an output of 1500mw/cm2. All
of this from a tiny device that is easy to place and easy to use with no AC cord.

We're also impressed with the low profile design that makes it easier to get the light parallel
to the curing surface. It has a variety of curing cycles that will meet the needs of any user. The
price is also right, giving you great value for the amount of energy it produces.

This device comes with my highest rating.

"Best curing light?", raclro,  Dec. 2009,  Dentaltown message board
"I have used the Fusion light for one year now.  Initially, it took some time to get used to the
buttons, but after returning it for a minor service issue, they added larger buttons.  I really like
it, and use it exclusively.  I have never had it run out of battery life and resort to the cord.  Very
nice barriers come with it and no cleanup is required, so I only need one.   The back of the
head gets hot after more than a minute of use, but it is rare to need it that much.  So far as I
know, no burns have resulted.  It's the best light I have ever used ....  Big thumbs up from me
and my assistant."

Dr. Howard S. Glazer, DDS, FAGD
Power, power, power. Seems to be the buzz word with all the new curing lights coming into
the marketplace. And rightly so. With the advent of low polymerization shrinkage resins there
is the opportunity for bulk filling, and that requires a powerful light. DentLight's Fusion Curing
light is just such a powerful light that offers two easily toggled power modes: standard at 800
mW/cm2 and high at 1500 mW/cm2. This provides the operator with a good deal of flexibility
in depth of cure. The unit itself is lightweight, nicely balanced and very sleek. Fusion's 360°
swivel head has a Focused Beam Lens, 10 mm wide, which provides for a fairly well
collimated light which is important for deep restorations which may be 8-10 mm from the
head of the light source. There is an optional White light module for transillumination and
this unit can be mounted and charged on the dental unit itself. Fusion is available in four
colors: Silver, Pink, Blue and Gold. This is an extremely versatile light that offers a lot for less
than $750.00...and that's a good deal!

ADA (American Dental Association) -  Professional Product Review (PPR), October, 2009
FUSION received favorable rating in cure depth and other performance metrics. ADA Surveys
indicate that FUSION rates as the best access in the mouth, the most ease of use and
comfort, the second best in acceptable cure time after the plasma Sapphire light, and the
third in durability rating after the plasma and Optilux 501 halogen light.

Super Fast Curing:
Do composites take too long? Consider one of the new ultrafast LED curing lights. The
"FUSION" by Dentlight cures with 1500mw so each layer requires only 5 seconds. You'll be
amazed how much time you'll save.
The Profitable Dentist - Fall 2009:  Recession: How to Make a Fortune!, p44.

Dr. Gordon Christensen DDS, MSD, PhD, September 30, 2009
I have been using fast curing lights for nearly 10 years, based on our positive in-house
research in Clinical Research Associates (now named CLINICIANS REPORT). We have
observed both the similarity and clinical acceptability of resins placed using fast and slow
curing in clinical practice, and in long-term research projects. Are there any reasons to
continue curing resins with slow (low intensity) lights? From a long-term clinical standpoint,
and with significant clinical observation over 10 years, high intensity curing lights are now
considered to be acceptable.

I suggest that you change to using higher intensity curing lights. There are several excellent
ones on the market . Some examples of three-to-five second curing lights are:

  • bluephase 20i LED Light from Ivoclar Vivadent
  • Demi LED Light Curing System from Kerr
  • Elipar S10 LED Curing Light from 3M ESPE
  • FUSION Curing Light from DentLight Inc.
  • VALO LED Curing Light from Ultradent Products

High-intensity curing lights offer several advantages over lower-intensity lights. Two of the
most important advantages for most dentists are time savings and a reduction in frustration.

Time use — Although the difference between a three-to-five second cure and a 30-second
cure does not seem to be significant when considered in the context of a busy practice, there
is a major time savings when using the faster high-intensity curing lights.

The difference in savings is significant. High-intensity lights save about $26,399 per year in a
typical general practice. This is not pocket change.

When considering the ease of use, lack of frustration, and simplification of clinical
procedures, high-intensity lights offer far more than just time and money savings.

Dr. Richard Price, Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, Canada
"Four commercial curing lights were used: Demi (Kerr), Bluephase 16i (Ivoclar-Vivadent),
Fusion (DentLight), and FlashLite Magna (Discus). ... The light output from the Fusion
maintained its power and shape delivering a "soliton" beam profile. The Fusion delivered the
greatest irradiance at all distances up to 8 mm."

Dental Advisor - Clinical Evaluations: FUSION, August, 2009
Dental Advisor completes clinical evaluations of FUSION curing light with favorable rating.

Reality Publishing: the Ratings - LED Curing Lights, December 2008
"Amazing power for such a small, lightweight unit, aluminum cladding sets it apart from the
mass of plastic competitors, looks good on the cabinet top, four different colors gives you a
décor choice, unusual to have a digital timer and an LCD in a light this size, ability to switch
from cordless to corded if necessary, remembers the last setting if you turn it off, no
annoying sleep mode, easily removable battery in the event you need to change it, low cost."

Independent Product Review, September 2008
Dental Product Shopper
"To rate the output power of the Fusion curing light, seven evaluators rated it as  excellent
and 1 rated it as good. One evaluator called the output power "Fantastic." Another evaluator
said, 1500 mW/cm2 is great! ..."

Dr. Blair Keck, August, 2008
"This unit (FUSION 2008) is very simple to use, both the Dr. and myself can't say enough
good things about this unit- GREAT! ... Power enough to get the job done in less time than
our current light. ... Very fast in curing, it really cuts time in half. … A great space saver. The
unit is sleek, we like the nickel finish, classic look. The options are simple to use and the
use for veneers for tacking time is wonderful"

LED Curing Lights - Status Report, July 2008, VOLUME 1, ISSUE 7;
By an Independent Non-Profit Dental Education and Product Testing Foundation.
"The evolution of LED curing continues, and the improvements are positive. Fusion
(DentLight) and Demi (Kerr) are the most intense LED lights yet tested, with performance
similar to fast halogen lights... and slightly better than top-performing previously evaluated
LED lights (G-Light by GC America, bluephase 16i by Ivoclar Vivadent, and L.E.Demetron II
by Kerr)... The Fusion had desirable high intensity from a large diameter tip and moderate
cost..."

"I must say that FUSION lamp is really, one of the best I've ever seen. I have used for almost
a year and no problem has ever happened. My cousin also bought the lamp, and he is really
happy with it too. DentLight has a great product. Keep doing, and improving what you have."

"First Impressions", Dr. George Freedman DDS, May 2007, Dentistry Today
"The FUSION from DentLight uses a patented light-generating technology to provide an
outstanding clinical output of more than 1,500 mW/cm2. The light beaming technology
significantly reduces the dispersion of light along its direction of propagation and narrows
the angle of light diffraction, providing a concentrated and relatively wide curing spot. The
FUSION's high power output carries the polymerizing photons further into the composite,
making the active working distance longer and allowing deeper bulk curing of the composite
restoration. In fact, as composites with ever lower polymerization shrinkage properties are
developed, the FUSION curing light may allow single-step bulk curing of these materials (as
opposed to the slower,  sequential curing of individual thin layers)."

"Fusion curing lights are the best....covered in metal, not some cheap plastic.   Fairly
inexpensive, too. I must credit Scott Leune (from the "Not your average start-up" thread) for
recommending them to me. Thanks, Scott !! "

"A Clinician's Guide to Light Curing", DR. FRED A. RUEGGEBERG, Academy of Operative
Dentistry Annual Meeting, Feb., 2007".
"As a result of its low light dispersion, FUSION shows the highest power density at 5-mm tip
distance among 22 LED lights and provides more than two times the intensity of many other
LED curing lights at 10mm away from the tip."

"This letter is in reference to the product FUSION hand-held curing light, which is the finest
instrument I have used in years. It is small, powerful, easy to use, and has been extremely
dependable. Furthermore, it is amazing that such a quality product has been marketed at
such an outstanding low price. The other thing that has been remarkable about this light is
the depth it will go in the tooth structure. I have found the material harder when set with this
light." Dec., 2006

"I have 4 Fusion curing lights now for 4 months.  No problems so far, quick cure, cordless
LED, very small footprint for the charger, never run out of juice.  Everyone in the office loves
them."
